Yes there are settings in the KeeFox add-on that prevent it running on non-Windows machines because the KeePassRPC plugin does not work with Mono. Last time I looked it seemed as though no .plgx plugins would work but I will set aside some time to investigate adding Linux and Mac support once the add-on is complete on Windows. I’ve gotten KeeFox portable 2 running on my ubuntu.

+ The plugin has been copied to the KeePass folder. This same KeePass executable runs fine in windows, the plugins works. But opening the same KeeFox executable file under linux/mono, says the plugin is uncompatible…

+i think the KeePass might be checking if your plugin is compatible with it running under Mono, and there’s a condition in your plugin saying it isnt. Maybe you’d want to try this? Or you probably have.
Let me know. Am really keen to ditch windows, and KeeFox is one of the THE main things i’d miss

Hi there,

I did try KeeFox 0.6 with the Up-To-Date Version of Firefox, 3.5.4. Sadly I couldn’t get it to work. The test always failed, even though KeeFox created 3 entrys in the KeePass Database…

I’m looking forward to the next version and will certainly use this tool as it becomes stable and working ^^’

Ian, I’m sorry but the domain is still actively used for email and this won’t change in the foreseeable future. I will of course contact you if I do decide it is no longer needed… but don’t hold your breath.

Here’s the post-build event that I use. I’m not sure if this is portable as this was a quick hack. This also does not auto-install to the KeePass 2.x directory and in fact does not need it to be actually installed. I am able to copy-paste it to any other project’s post-build event, however, it does assume that the current directory is the output directory which in turn is ..\Build\$(ConfigurationName)\DLL\ and that KeePass.exe is in the same directory as the Build directory.

I totally agree with you, something simple like this is way too hard to do in VS. Right now im trying to handle upgrading versions, and of course i see ZERO documentation on how to do this anywhere :-/

How’s the project going? Thanks for embarking on it!

I don’t have visual studio, or I’d try to help (or if it’s not required, I would give it a shot – but as I mentioned before I’m mostly a web developer). Anyway, good work so far… as far as i know… Hope to hear more soon!
